Dear Wolf Pack,
Welcome to the University of Nevada, Reno. We are excited to have you here and hope
you're enjoying NevadaFIT and your first days on campus.
We recently identified that a number of university-issued Surface devices may not have
completed their setup as expected. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have
caused. Most students will not need to take any action, but we would like everyone with a
university-issued Surface device to take a few minutes to verify that setup has completed
successfully.
Please review the attached document: Finish_Setting_Up_Your_Surface.docx.
If the guide indicates that your device setup is not complete, please visit the OIT
Support Center on the second floor of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center for assistance as
soon as possible. This is the same location where you first picked up your Surface. Staff
are available to help with Surface-related setup and enrollment issues and can help
determine the best path forward.
Before visiting, we encourage you to complete any recommended steps outlined in the guide.
The instructions include screenshots and walk through the most common issues. These steps
can be completed in just a few minutes.
If your setup is complete, but you do not see any apps or class links, please see the
second attachment: Sync_Your_Surface.docx.
Our team has already addressed the underlying issue and is working to ensure that every
Surface device is fully configured and ready for the semester going forward.
